CHRISTIAN HOLZE

scroll collection

Holze translates the course of the initial forms into digital color surfaces without a material structure in inkjet prints on canvas, which are finally glazed and partially overpainted with a brush and paint. As printed originals, they assert their own inner contradiction. The classic canvas art print after famous paintings by great masters can be understood as a contemporary market response to a socially anchored longing of the individual for the materiality of the unaffordable original, the acquisition of which is reserved for a financially strong elite.
